Rachel Mandelbaum, Graduate Art Therapy Intern

Rachel Mandelbaum (she/her) brings her expertise as a second-year graduate Art Therapy Intern to our team. Drawing from her extensive background in nurturing healing and encouraging self-expression, Rachel has gained invaluable experience in her work as a graduate art therapy intern with adults and young people at Nassau University Medical Center's Psychiatric units. There, Rachel skillfully led art therapy groups and provided individual art therapy sessions, focusing on assisting individuals navigating the challenges of anxiety, depression, and trauma.

Rachel holds experience as an international community service volunteer  focusing on supporting children and teens. Rachel’s academic journey underscores her unwavering dedication to the arts and healing. Equipped with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Lander College and seminary training at Tomer Devorah Institute for Advanced Studies for Women, Reachel is poised to culminate her educational trajectory with the forthcoming completion of her Master of Arts in Creative Arts Therapy from Hofstra University in the autumn of 2025.

Rachel’s therapeutic ethos is characterized by warmth, deep listening, and creative problem solving. Through this compassionate approach, Rachel endeavors to empower children, teens and young adults to navigate their emotions and relationships with resilience and creativity, fostering healing and personal growth.
